Here are some interesting facts about GMO's

Industrialized Agriculture
Man has successfully altered the genetic composition of certain varieties of crops. One prime example is maize or corn. By altering the genes, corn can be grown larger with greater yields per acre. However a recent study out begins to show how non-GMO corn hybrids are out producing GM varieties.
Spectrum Premium Non-GMO
This large scale seed production company has corn seeds that can now produce non-GMO corn with increased "yields, plant healt, and standability." Results from a study in Illinois have shown these new seeds produce 3-10 more bushels per acre compared to standard GM varieties.

GMO Example: Bt Corn

Here's an example of a genetically modified animal that may be harvested and sold commercially. There are still many questions and issues that surround the marketing and dispersal of a genetically modified animal not solely limited to the effects on humans but also the dangers posed to wild populations if these genetically engineered species ever breed with their wild counterparts.
